As technology evolves, so too must we. With major corporations increasingly operating online, staying abreast of technological advancements is crucial. Artificial Intelligence (AI) has revolutionized business practices and even our perceptions of the world around us. Brian. T. Lenahan, a leading figure in understanding the evolution of AI, will be joining us at ICW 2020 to share his insights.
The Role of AI in Coaching
AI's role in the coaching industry cannot be underestimated. Properly trained AI assistants can be as effective as traditional coaches, creating learning lessons, setting goals, and supporting human coaches in various ways. However, the success of AI assistants depends on how well they are trained to perform their intended functions. While some question the authority of human coaches, it's important to remember that AI is a machine designed to follow instructions set by humans. An AI assistant without a human coach is like a defunct robot. To learn more about AI's role in coaching, visit our blog post on the role of AI in coaching and leadership development.
Types of AI in Coaching
For better understanding, we can categorize AI in coaching into rule-based AI and machine learning AI:
- Rule-based AI: This system acts as a calibrated assessment tool, following rules established by an expert coach. For example, clients can schedule online learning sessions based on their availability, similar to push notifications on mobile phones.
- Machine learning AI: This type of AI provides tailored solutions to clients based on their individual development and learnings. Each client receives a personalized solution, helping them achieve desired results.
The AI industry is also working on a third type of e-learning, utilizing advanced algorithms to allow individuals to rehearse their newly acquired skills before showcasing them publicly. The effectiveness of this automated learning method in the coaching community is still being evaluated.
